Wellington Cricket Club
HISTORY
Wellington Cricket club was established in 1897 with the Kennedy’s and the De Villiers family as founders of the club. Wellington Cricket Club plays its cricket since 1932 on the field which is known as Pen Basson Cricket Oval. The club is situated next to Boland Rugby Stadium in the centre of Wellington.
Since its inception to the Boland Cricket League, Wellington C.C has constantly been a major playing force and has won the Premier League title in 2005 and represented Boland at the National Club Championships.
The club has three artificial nets and a four strip turf pitch for matches. The club currently has 3 teams who compete in different leagues in the Boland Cricket Board Competitions.
