Tulbagh Pioneers Cricket Club
HISTORY
WAS ESTABLISHED in 1983 on a Sunday afternoon in the backyard of Johnny Adams. A few gentlemen were sitting and chatting about the collapse of the former club Tulbagh United and were worried about the future of potential cricket players in our town. They decided on this new club. The founders were Kirby Appollis, Wicky Pietersen, Blokkies Schippers, Johnny Adams, Abie Adams, Jannie Van Wyngaardt, Stanley Michaux, and late Sakkeman Kock, David Kotze, Ikey Michaels. The first Chairperson was late David Kotze, then late Ikey Michaels and then Kirby Apollis, Jannie van Wyngaardt, Brandon Maurituis, D.J.Jansen and currently Aubrey Carnow. Aubrey is also the member who served the longest and is also member since 1984. The club played first social games and joined the former Worcester region Cricket Board in 1985.
