Paarl Cricket Club
HISTORY
The Paarl Cricket Club was established on 29 July 1991 after the amalgamation of the Paarl Cricket Club (Western Province Cricket Union) and the Paarl Cricket Club (Western Province Cricket Board) in an attempt to place all cricket under one umbrella in Paarl. The official headquarters of the club is at the Parys Sports Grounds, Market Street, Paarl. Over the past eighteen years the club has gone through periods of prosperity, as well as the occasional season of adversity in terms of their performances on the cricket field. Various reasons have been tabled for these contrasting performances, but these, however, have not affected the constant growth and development of exciting young cricketers over almost two decades. The Paarl Cricket Club experienced its most successful season, since unification in 1991, when we won the Boland Cricket Board’s Premier League in 2004/2005, and represented Boland at the National Club Championships during September 2005. During the 2007/2008 season we finished second after losing the final game against Easterns Cricket Club.
