Background Information: While at school, André played cricket at a school level and a club level for Talpark Cricket Club in Windhoek, Namibia. He also played Club and social cricket in the Army, and social cricket in Potchefstroom until 1995. In 2003 André started umpiring at a High School level and in 2005 he started umpiring at a Country / Premier League level
