Favorite thing about being an umpire: When I was not able to play cricket anymore, I wanted to stay connected and from there I started umpiring. I also love coaching and training which I’ve been doing since 1994. Friendship is also important to me and I constantly make new friends, not just umpires, but players too. A bonus is definitely meeting our top players, like the Protea players
Least favorite thing about being an umpire: Being human you sometimes make mistakes and then players normally judge you as a bad umpire; when I get the blame when a team loses a match; When promotion up the order is based on things other than merit
