Why do you love Cricket and why is it so important to you?
- As a South African cricket player, we do not get financially rewarded to play the game we love so much. I have played this game for 18 years now and can’t think of one moment not enjoyed. As long as I wake up and still WANT to play the game I think I will. That is important to me and should be for any other cricketer / sportsperson out there. No use one plays / or does something you don’t enjoy. I love cricket, because it takes me away from everyday life, let it be finances, family etc. It takes me to another place where all I do, is do what I love. Importance about enjoying the game is that this is where I perform to the best of my ability, when I enjoy it
Personal quotes:
- Nothing is Impossible when you believe
- Perfect practice makes perfect
Advice to aspiring cricketers:
- Love what you do, go there and do the best you can do and seize the moment. Never forget that you or nobody else is bigger than the game. Stay level headed and remain grounded
