Background Information:
I grew up in Port Elizabeth until I moved to Cape Town at the age of 8. I started playing cricket for fun with the boys when I was 11 but never took it seriously. I started playing for my school when I was 14 and also played at club level where I was sighted and chosen for the Boland u 19 team. I played in the u19 team until 2008 (for 4 years) and now I am currently in the Boland seniors squad and play for my university at club level. I never thought I would be so attached to this game but I have loved it since I started and look forward to many more years of tough competition
Career Highlights:
- Batting average of 21.33 during an April tour in 2008
- Batting average of 33 in school level in 2007
- Batting average of 37 in school level in 2008
- Boland u19 from 2005 to 2008
- Highest score of 50 vs. Kent
In my bag:
- The usual, pads, gloves, helmet, thigh pad, bat, and different balls to play with when I have nothing to do. I also always keep strawberry bubblegum, sun screen, Labello, a bandana, Boland cap, water, a pen and an extra pair of shorts if I ever need. Oh and I enjoy having snacks, sweets or anything to chew on
Why do you love Cricket and why is it so important to you?
- Like any sport, cricket has taught me so many different aspects to life. I have met amazing people throughout all my years of playing at different levels who to this day are some of the closest people to me. It is something I look forward to everyday and sometimes helps me clear my mind and be myself. The competition has taught me to fight for what I want which has helped me in many other situations in life. I love the company and team spirit but most of all I love being on the field whether it is batting or fielding and playing a game I have fallen in love with
Personal quotes:

- Life is a coin you can only spend it once so spend it full heartedly and never look back
- Winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win! If you fail to plan, you plan to fail
Advice to aspiring cricketers:
- Keep playing with your heart and you will succeed in anything you want to achieve and always remember cricket may have individual importance but it is played as a team who becomes a second family
- Never give up no matter how difficult it gets or how far your goals may seem
- Practice will always make perfect
