Bredasdorp Cricket Club
HISTORY
Cricket in Bredasdorp has a rich legacy and history reaching as far back as the 1940’s. Previously known as Blue Bells Cricket Club, the club was renamed in 1998 to Bredasdorp Cricket Club.
The club has been playing in the Boland Cricket Council’s leagues since then. Playing in various different leagues and travelling to towns such as Worcester; Touwsriver; Ceres and Mamre, Bredasdorp has built strong ties with many teams in the Boland and has agrowing reputation within the region.
The latest crop of players playing for the club has a blend of youth and experience and is doing very well in the Boland Country (South-Boland) League, Finishing the 2008/9 in a strong second position in the Country East League.
All matches are played at the Glaskasteel Sport Complex on a very challenging pitch, which offers rewards for hard work and concentration. Practice sessions are also at the same venue.
Bredasdorp Cricket Club endevours to continue playing in the Boland League and to continue building healthy sporty relationships in cricket. We also aim to grow the love for cricket within the community and to give the youth a healthy alternative to crime and drugs.
